Mallory Cremin is a photographic artist living in Sage, California. A freelance photographer, and an art educator since 1992, her award winning photographic work has been exhibited across the country and is in the collections of the Center for Creative Photography, ASU and City of Mesa. Her personal work specializes in printing and alternative process emulsions on fabric and subjects of environmental concern.
About her artwork, she says ”I use fabric as a support for my images for the tactile qualities and for the added dimension of relating to the way we live. Rauschenberg said it better, that art relates more to life when it is taken from life. The attraction to repairing what we do have is echoed in the use of patchwork quilting techniques, and frequently, the recycling of materials. An art from we can live with, lean on, cover ourselves with, reuse, store easily, all these are important supports for the subject of the work.”
Mallory teaches at CSU San Bernardino, and has also taught at Chaffey College, Idyllwild Arts and University of Redlands, among others. (MFA in Photography, ASU, Tempe, AZ; BA in Art History, Kenyon College, Gambler, OH)
